📘 State Constitution of Veremont
📜 Preamble
We the people of the State of Veremont, acknowledging that life itself springs from the liberty of choice granted to mankind, and believing that reason, industry, and learning are the pillars upon which a just society must stand, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the preservation of liberty, the cultivation of wisdom, and the prosperity of all who shall dwell within this State.
⚖️ Bill of Rights of the People of Veremont
Article I
All persons born within the State of Veremont possess the natural right to life and liberty.
Article II
Every citizen shall possess freedom of mind, thought, and expression.
Article III
The body of every citizen shall remain free from unlawful restraint.
Article IV
Learning and education shall be encouraged for all people of the State.
Article V
Every person shall enjoy freedom of conscience and belief.
Article VI
Citizens shall have the right to hold property earned through honest labor.
Article VII
Citizens may pursue trade, invention, and enterprise.
Article VIII
No citizen shall be deprived of life, liberty, or property without due process of law.
Article IX
The people possess the right to representation in their government.
Article X
Every citizen bears the duty to strengthen the Commonwealth.
🏛️ Articles of Government
Article I
All authority originates from the people of Veremont.
Article II
Government powers shall be divided into Legislative, Executive, and Judicial branches.
Article III
Legislative authority shall reside in the Assembly of Veremont.
Article IV
A Council of Veremont shall advise the Governor and review laws.
Article V
The Governor shall serve as the chief executive of the State.
Article VI
Courts shall interpret laws and protect justice within the State.
Article VII
Schools and institutions of learning shall be encouraged in every town.
Article VIII
Trade, agriculture, and invention shall be promoted for prosperity.
Article IX
Citizens shall govern themselves through reason and virtue.
Article X
Innovation and the advancement of knowledge shall be encouraged.
Article XI
Defense of the State shall rest with a citizen militia.
Article XII
Amendments to this Constitution require approval of the Assembly and the people.
